Same! But all I have are these, and the ones on the study guide.

FDR's death shaking the nation in April 1945
Eisenhower choosing to let Stalin take Berlin
Germany's surrender May 8th
The bloody battle to take Okinawa in which 92,000 Japanese soldiers and 100,000 Jap civilians died fighting to the death. The US lost 16,000 men. This convinced the US that the Japanese would defend their home islands to the death. They had an army of 6.5 million plus they armed their civilians to resist an Allied invasion. US planners estimated that 500,000 Americans and 6 million Japanese would die if the US invaded Japan.
As a result President Truman chose to drop two atom bombs on Hiroshima and Nagasaki killing 500,000 Japanese over a 5 year period due to the radiation. Emperor Hirohito finally agreed to surrender after the 2nd bomb thinking we may have more (which we didn't) and the treaty was signed on Sept 2nd, 1945. WAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAHHHH!
